Eric Strauss has always loved being near nature.
Eric finds inspiration in imagery from the earth and combines it with his hand-formed steel, creating a unique juxtaposition between nature & industrialization. After discovering sculpture while in school at Georgia Southern, Eric studied art in Cortona, Italy, eventually returning home to Atlanta to start a studio. Eric gained recognition with his 2006 Booth Museum of Art exhibit. The centerpiece: his Rough Stock collection, six stainless steel horses with beautiful curves and usage of negative space. A rapidly increasing stream of commissions (including Sir Elton John) recognizes Eric’s work for what it is- extremely creative and totally fresh. His recent focus has included outdoor gates, fireplace screens, and stair railings, all adorned with intricately forged flowers and leaves.
